Washington spending is out of control. The national debt is $14.3 trillion or $46,580 per American, and we simply cannot afford it. I urge you to sign on to HR 2409 and lower the debt ceiling so we can get America and our economy back on track.

The federal government has been practicing a vicious cycle of taxing, spending, debt, and deficits for decades. Now, our national debt escalates by $4 billion per day. This is utterly destructive of our prosperity, our liberty, and our national security.
More and more economists are warning that the economic burden of debt is no longer being transferred to future generations, but is becoming an immediate, full-on crisis that may create the kind of problems now exploding in Greece.
We must change the conversation and the behavior in Washington, D.C. Instead of talking about raising the debt ceiling, we must begin to pay down the debt now. That is why I have introduced HR 2409 - to actually reduce the debt ceiling as opposed to giving President Obama 2 trillion dollars more to burn through.
